Paved Groovement was founded in 2004 by a musician, producer, and composer named
Roos aka DJ JustMike. The label is based in Dallas, Texas and was started as an outlet
for Roos’ own musical creations, as well as a way to spread his love of music to others
in this day and age of the digital medium.

 

While the majority of the music coming from Paved Groovement is Electronic based
dance music, Paved Groovement does not restrict itself solely to this genre. The roots
of Paved Groovement come straight fromthe classics; Soul, Funk, Jazz, Disco, Rock
and Roll, Reggae, Country, Blues, Hip-Hop… the list goes on and on… and Paved
Groovement comes mostly from true musicians who aren’t just pushing buttons and /
or programming, but playing what they feel. The artists involved with Paved Groovement
pride themselves in originality that doesn’t follow the current popular styles or trends.
These artists don’t limit themselves to one style of music and they don’t use samples
of other works to recreate sounds. Paved Groovement is and always will be about
spreading positive vibes and no negativity. Paved Groovement is from the heart and
soul of music lovers who truly believe that music can change the world.

 

Several artists have joined the Paved Groovement roster by contributing original
creations as well as remixes and collaborations. Paved Groovement is always looking
for fresh new talent. Paved Groovement does not have any exclusive ties to other
labels and the artists are always looking to expand and spread their music in any and
all ways possible.

 

Recently, Paved Groovement has had success on www.stompy.com with several
tracks charting in the top 10 for weeks at a time. Paved Groovement has also celebrated
its first vinyl release on Dallas-based Grab Recordings with three original tracks by Roos.
These tracks are ‘Belt Buckle’, ‘Body Funktion’, and ‘Imagination’ featuring local hip-hop afficionado MC Astro. ‘Belt Buckle’ has also been reworked by Dallas DJ / Producers /
Remixers, Ill Castle. Look for new and upcoming releases from Paved Groovement on www.traxsource.com, www.stompy.com, the aforementioned Grab Recordings as well
as several other well known labels.
